From Viral Clips to the Stage: A Return to Music Shows After 4,000 Days
K-pop girl group BESTie has reunited for a new performance of "Love Options," 13 years after the song's release. A new dance video featuring all four members surpassed 270,000 views in less than 24 hours.
BESTie released the video on member Dahye's YouTube channel on Oct. 29. It features Hyeyeon, Uji, Dahye and Haeryung performing the song's choreography together.
In the video, the four members dance in high heels, bringing a more mature look to the song while retaining their signature bright and playful energy. Despite the years apart, the members remain in sync throughout the performance.
The reunion follows the unexpected resurgence of "Love Options." Originally released in 2013, the song recently gained renewed attention through short-form videos, climbing to No. 47 on Melon's Top 100 chart.
The song has also gained traction on YouTube Music and Shazam, as well as Japan's Oricon charts.
The renewed popularity brought the four members back together. Hyeyeon, Uji, Dahye and Haeryung reunited on Oct. 17 to mark the 13th anniversary of the song's release.
BESTie is now preparing to return to the stage as a full group. The members will appear on MBC's weekly music show "Show! Music Core" on Oct. 31, marking their first music show performance together in roughly 4,000 days.
The group's return to television follows the song's resurgence on the charts and its reunion after years apart.
