i-dle's YUQI Tears Up in China 10 Years After Leaving: "Thank You for Supporting My Choices"
K-pop group i-dle member YUQI has wrapped up her solo fan-con tour in China. The four-city run drew around 60,000 fans.
YUQI played the final stop of "2026 YUQI Fan-Con '27'" in Shanghai on Oct. 31. A fan-con is a mix of a fan meeting and a concert. The tour opened Oct. 11 in Guangzhou, then moved through Chengdu and Beijing before ending in Shanghai. There were five shows in all.
The tour was planned to celebrate her 27th birthday and look back on the journey she has shared with her fans. It also showed how strong her following is in China. Every venue held more than 10,000 seats, and every show sold out. That included Beijing, her hometown. Altogether, she met about 60,000 fans.
The last show in Shanghai put her own musical style in the spotlight.
"For this show, I'm going to perform everything I've wanted to perform and show you everything I've wanted to show you," she said.
She performed earlier solo songs, including "M.O," "Radio (Dum-Dum)" and "FREAK." She also sang three tracks from her recently released second mini album: "Stay," "I Like You" and "银河之舞" (Dance of the Galaxy). The staging featured the guzheng, a traditional Chinese string instrument, along with guitar. Her signature low, warm vocals brought the performances together.
The cover stages showed a different side of her. Backed by a multinational dance crew, she performed "Training Season" and "Whataya Want from Me," moving from hip-hop to pop. Her performance of "Training Season" also drew attention on social media shortly after the show.
She kept each show a little different. Some songs and outfits changed from city to city, giving fans something new each time. Late in the set, she appeared alongside GIGI, her own character. She performed more than 20 songs over the course of the show.
YUQI was moved to tears as she thanked her fans at the end of the tour.
"I remember leaving Beijing in 2016 with a small bag on my back to chase my dream," she said. "It means so much to me that you've been with me every step of the way. Thank you for loving me even though I'm not perfect. And thank you for supporting my choices."
"I'm always rooting for you, and I love you," she added. "I made it this far because of you. I'll keep working hard to give back even more of the love you've given me."
