SEVENTEEN's S.COUPS Finally Gets His First Pitch Moment at Korean Series

SEVENTEEN's S.COUPS is set to throw his first ceremonial pitch since his debut, and he will do it in his hometown of Daegu during the Korean Series, South Korea's professional baseball championship.

According to his agency, Pledis Entertainment, S.COUPS will throw the ceremonial first pitch before Game 5 of the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO Korean Series on Nov. 8. The game between the Samsung Lions and the KT Wiz is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. KST at Daegu Samsung Lions Park.

A native of Daegu, S.COUPS has often expressed his support for the Samsung Lions. In 2024, he appeared on "Jjinpaen Guyeok," a baseball-themed variety show aired on ENA and YouTube's Channel 15ya. During filming, he revealed that he had just received an invitation from the team to throw a ceremonial first pitch.

On the show, S.COUPS talked about his interest in baseball and why he supports the Samsung Lions. The unexpected invitation surprised fellow cast members, including actors Cha Tae-hyun and In Gyo-jin. About two years and six months later, he is finally set to take the mound at the team's home ballpark.

His first pitch comes at a crucial point in the championship series. The Samsung Lions defeated the KT Wiz 10-5 in Game 4 on Nov. 7, taking a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. A victory in Game 5 would secure the championship for Samsung. S.COUPS will therefore throw his first ceremonial pitch before a game in which the team he supports could win the title.

Meanwhile, S.COUPS formed a unit with fellow SEVENTEEN member Mingyu and released their first EP, "HYPE VIBES," in September 2025. The album sold 887,581 copies in its first week, setting a record at the time for the highest first-week sales by a K-pop unit album.

"HYPE VIBES" also debuted at No. 71 on the Billboard 200, becoming the highest-charting K-pop unit album in the chart's history at the time.
