BTS Tops Two Oricon Midyear Album Rankings With 'ARIRANG'
BTS topped Oricon's 2026 midyear Album Ranking and Combined Album Ranking with its fifth full-length album, "ARIRANG," according to the Japanese chart released Thursday.
The album sold more than 728,000 copies during the tracking period, making BTS the first overseas artist to top Oricon's midyear Album Ranking twice, following 2020's "MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 -THE JOURNEY." It is also the first album by a foreign male act in 22 years to surpass 700,000 copies in the midyear ranking.
"ARIRANG" also became the first release by an international artist to top Oricon's Combined Album Ranking, earning more than 922,000 points. The album additionally placed No. 3 on the Digital Album Ranking.
"We're honored that an album representing BTS today has received so much love," the group said through Oricon, thanking fans for their continued support.
The album has also been named one of the best releases of 2026 so far by publications including "Billboard," "Rolling Stone" and "NME."
