Mnet's 'Girls Planet 2027' Partners With Republic Collective for Global Girl Group Project
Mnet has partnered with Republic Collective, a division of Universal Music Group, for its upcoming audition program "Girls Planet 2027," expanding the project's global ambitions ahead of its launch next year.
Announced on July 15, the partnership will span the entire process, from production of the competition series to the international promotions of the debut group. Republic Collective has worked with global stars including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Drake and The Weeknd, while also supporting the international activities of several K-POP acts.
"Girls Planet 2027" is the latest installment in Mnet's "Planet" franchise, which previously produced groups including Kep1er, ZEROBASEONE and ALPHA DRIVE ONE.
The program has already attracted strong international interest. According to Mnet, more than 36,000 applicants have registered since auditions opened in May, with nearly 30 percent coming from North and South America.
To further expand its global reach, the production team will also hold a large-scale onsite audition during KCON LA 2026 next month, giving aspiring contestants another opportunity to join the competition.
"Girls Planet 2027" is scheduled to premiere in 2027 and will continue to accept applications from aspiring trainees worldwide regardless of nationality or country of residence.
