BTS has added another milestone to its YouTube record, with the music video for "IDOL" surpassing 1.4 billion views.

Released in August 2018 as the title track from the repackaged album "Love Yourself 結 'Answer'," "IDOL" became the group's fifth music video to reach the milestone. It joins "Dynamite," "Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey)," "DNA" and the "MIC Drop" remix in the 1.4 billion-view club.

The colorful music video stands out for blending Korean cultural elements with global influences. Set against vibrant backdrops inspired by traditional Korean architecture, the Bukcheong lion mask dance and other cultural motifs, the visual also incorporates African dance styles into its choreography, creating one of BTS' most distinctive performances.

Musically, "IDOL" combines Korean traditional percussion and vocal exclamations with South African-inspired rhythms, reflecting the group's signature approach to fusing different genres and cultures.

The song reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 21 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart following its release. In 2018, the music video also won Music Video of the Year at the E! People's Choice Awards.
