TWICE's Dahyun to Star in Teen Romance Film 'Rolling Gureum'
TWICE member Dahyun has secured her next acting role. She will star in the upcoming film "Rolling Gureum" (Gureumi Gureumi), a high school romance about first love.
The film follows Gureum, a cheerful girl who has spent her whole life using a wheelchair, and Junsan, a promising young swimmer who carries emotional wounds he keeps hidden. Over the course of the story, the two become special to each other. It is a fun, chaotic first-love story about two very different teenagers who end up widening each other's worlds.
Dahyun plays Gureum, a high school student and member of the school's art club who uses a bright pink wheelchair. Gureum is paralyzed from the waist down and has used a wheelchair all her life. However, she is also brighter than anyone around her and has strong self-esteem.
The story starts when Gureum decides she wants to see real abs up close so she can draw them. She heads to the school pool, where she becomes the community service mentor for Junsan, who was suspended from training after getting into a fight with an older student. That is where her first love begins.
The role puts Dahyun at the center of the story. Attention is on whether she can portray Gureum's journey with care and whether she can establish herself as a new "first love icon" on screen.
Actor Cha Woo-min plays Junsan. The film is directed by Choi Sun-min, who has co-directed the JTBC dramas "King the Land," "Miss Night and Day" and "Waiting for Gyeongdo" (Gyeongdoreul Gidarimyeo).
Dahyun began her acting career with the 2025 film "You Are the Apple of My Eye." She followed it with the film "Sprint" (Jeollyeokjilju) and the JTBC drama "Love Me," which ended in January 2026.
Her television debut also earned her recognition. In June, she won the Rising Star award at the 2026 Global OTT Awards, which honor work on streaming platforms, for her performance in "Love Me."
"Rolling Gureum" is currently in production, and is scheduled for release in 2027. For Dahyun, it is the next step in an acting career that has moved quickly between film and TV, and this time she is leading the story.
